Ozie B. African American Female Track and Field Scholarship

“The Ozie B. African American Female Track and Field Scholarship was created by Tiffany Sagbohan who is a former track and field female athlete and was inducted in the BC Track and Field Hall of Fame in 2002. The scholarship was created in honor of her grandmother Ozie Bivens who was a huge advocate for education. She was also a pillar of strength, dedication and perseverance .

The Ozie B. African American Female Track and Field Scholarship will be awarded to incoming or returning Bakersfield College students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Students must be enrolled full-time (12+ units) and must be an African American female athlete in track and field at Bakersfield College. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who does not qualify for financial aid, but still shows financial need. The scholarship will be full tuition paid for two African American females for 2 years while attending Bakersfield College. The student must participate in an interview with the donor committee and must meet criteria each year to remain eligible for the scholarship."
